Transformational Filmmaking and the Panic of 2008

Waking up this morning and reading the headline on Drudge Report, “Panic of ’08, Feds Pledge Top 7.4 trillion,” felt very much like the morning of September 11th when the World Trade Center buildings collapsed. Most of us saw the writing on the wall and knew this was coming…  We heard about it from top financial analysts and we heard about it from the indigenous shamans around the world in their reports of 2012. But its one thing to hear predictions about this economic collapse and its another thing to wake up in the morning to read such dire headlines.

What does that mean for us as filmmakers? Where do we put our focus and what stories do we choose to tell when our structures are falling apart?
